In 2018, Royco one of the biggest and most popular seasoning cubes in Nigeria decided it was time to reconnect with their core audience, loyalists and remind the new generation of what makes Royco, Royco.
They had not made a commercial in over a decade and wanted to make a video that told the story of the royco effect. The Ad Agency approached us with a script, In response we shared our treatment /direction and suggested we make the commercial as relatable as possible and ensure it's a feel good commercial.
We filmed the commercial in the studio, building individual sets for the different casts. The ppre production for this commercial was intense but it was worth it. We flew in a female Director who understood and captured the essence of the Royco effect.
The sound design process was another interesting one. It was quite exciting to working with so many diverse people. Our task was to make a simple video that communicated a simple message. We shot on the RED Cinema Camera, and cut on on Adobe Premiere.
